*Dzanc does not accept any submissions that are AI generated or where AI has been used in the writing process in any form. Please send us work drawn from your human artistry and ingenuity.

Dzanc House is a home and a hub for regional and national literary and cultural arts programming, and now offers a versatile Day Studio residency program for local artists and writers who seek a nurturing and quiet space to work on their creative projects without needing to stay the night.
Our Day Studio residencies are limited to writers, poets, translators, artists (working in all mediums), actors, directors, etc. from Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Washtenaw County.
Submissions will open on March 1. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by April 15 or May 15. Day Studio Residencies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Day Studios run from March 15–June 15 2025.

Dzanc Books publishes innovative literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and hybrid fiction—including recent titles from Ellen O'Connell Whittet, Robert Lopez, Lindsey Drager, George Singleton, Dur e Aziz Amna, Mubanga Kalimamukwento, Yelena Moskovich, and Chika Unigwe, to name a few.
Before submitting to Dzanc, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the type of work we publish by browsing through our upcoming and backlist titles. The styles and forms may vary, but there are a few types of books we won't be considering. This includes genre fiction (sci-fi, mystery, romance, etc.), children's books, or YA. We are also unable to consider any works that have been previously released, including self-published titles, or works that have been written using or with assistance from generative AI.
Please include a synopsis of the work as well as a brief author bio. You should enclose the complete manuscript. Due to the high volume of submissions, the review process may take up to six months or longer. Each manuscript is carefully considered, with many of the strongest candidates receiving several reads.
